I found around 2,500 Pink-footed Geese Anser brachyrhynchus (N=kortnebbgås) and 1,500 Greylag Geese Anser anser (N=grågås).
Amongst these were the following -
3 adult White-fronted Geese Anser albifrons (N=tundragås) - 1 of the nominate race albifrons, 2 of the Greenland race flavirostris;
3 Snow Geese Chen caerulescens (N=snøgås) - 1 adult white phase and 2 blue phase (one adult and one juvenile);
5 Barnacle Geese Branta leucopsis
The adult blue phase Snow Goose has a yellow leg ring, and no metal ring - probably an escapee from captivity (?).
A few pictures from Saturday's trip:
Pink-footed Geese
Pink-footed Geese with a flavirostris White-front (to right of rocks)
An adult albifrons White-front with Pink-footed Geese (albifrons have pink bills, flavirostris have orange-yellow bills).
A white-phase Snow Goose (a long way away :-))
The bird with a white head is a blue-phase Snow Goose. There is a juvenile to its left but only the experts will be able to spot that one. I did not notice it in the field, but it was there in the photo! They are together with Greylag Geese.
