Three otters
Whilst out for a walk this afternoon I heard the tell-tale whistling call of an otter Lutra lutra. I used the cover of some bushes and large boulders on the beach to get closer to the source of the sound. Surpisingly there was nt one, not two, but three otters on the shore. They were on the same stone, and clambered on top of one another, groomed one another, and took an afternoon nap together. All three were the same size, and I presume they are siblings? Their antics kept me entertained for over an hour. When they finally swam off, I was cold and uncomfortable after sitting on top of damp stones, but it was a thoroughly worthwhile wildlife experience.
