A family of cranes

During the last couple of days, a pair of Common Cranes Grus grus (N=trane) have been feeding on a farm in Malvik, quite close to our house. This pair has one young, easily recognisable due to its drab plumage compared to the adults.

Oh dear - not sure that a clover leaf was what it had in mind for dinner?

And a close-up of the juvenile

The brownish tinge on the juveniles head is staining from iron-rich water
