A trip to Stjørdal (Nord-Trøndelag) this afternoon to look for swans and geese. Just east of the town there were over 100 Whooper Swans
Cygnus cygnus (N=sangsvane) feeding on stubbles. I counted 121 birds in total covering three sites, but there was a lot of bird movements so difficult to gain an accurate total. On the river at Noteng there was a flock of Whooper Swans together with 15 Eurasian White-fronted Geese
Anser albifrons albifrons (N=tundragås)
, as well as 9 Canada Geese
Branta canadensis (N=kanadagås).
