Purple Sandpiper

It has rained constantly all day today (22nd March). Not very tempting to venture outside. After having waited several hours for the rain to ease, I finally decided to go for a little walk out to Midtsandtangen, only a short distance from the house. A few birds around, mostly seaducks and gulls (including 2 Iceland Gulls). But the highlight was a Purple Sandpiper Calidris maritima (N=fjæreplytt) which allowed me to come very close (what I like about "Purps" is that they are so confiding.
