Welcome

After much thought, I have at last started my own blogg!

Today I visited the harbour area at Hommelvik, a few kilometres from home, and called into Midtsandneset on my way home. Today it really felt like winter was on it's way out, with sunshine, birdsong and several migrant birds. A few small flocks of waders (northern lapwing and ringed plover, as well as pairs of oystercatchers scattered along the coast between Hommelvik and Midtsand). At Midtsand there was  a group of about 30 snow buntings feeding on bare patches in the snow.

There were quite a few greenfinches around - unusual to see so many on the shore at Hommelvik, where they were "bathing" along the edge of the snow.
