Common Eiders

There are currently a few hundred Common Eiders Somateria mollissima (N=ærfugl) along the shoreline in Malvik. I spent an hour or two late this afternoon watching a flock in the harbour at Hommelvik. The majority in the flock appear to be females.

The white feathers on the breast of the above bird suggest it is a juvenile male.
