I am currently in the Helgeland area waiting for Pink-footed Geese
Anser brachyrhynchus (N=kortnebbgås) to arrive from their breeding grounds in Svalbard. At the time of writing (lunch-time on 19th September) there are very few geese to be seen so looks like they might be later this year. In the meantime I have had a little time to look at birds other than geese. There are quite a few waders around in some parts. Yesterday I took pictures of a couple of species that were close to the car - see below.
