Today (21st December) the male and female Parrot Crossbills
Loxia pytopsittacus (N=furukorsnebb) were feeding on the pine cones in the hedge at the edge of our garden. They were extremely confiding, allowing me to stand 2-3 metres away. They remained for a couple of hours, until the male Great Spotted Woodpecker, that also wants his share of cone seed, appeared and chased the crossbills away.
