Tomorrow (25th September) is the start of the elk- (or moose) -hunting season in Norway. Today, I have seen more elk
Alces alces (N=Elg) on the islands of Offersøy and Tjøtta than I have seen since I got here (been here since 15th September). I think they have an internal calendar and know somehow that today is the last chance for them to safely parade around in the open. If they have any sense, they will keep their heads down tomorrow.
Morning moose on Tjøtta
Evening elk on Offersøy
